			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Reporting to the Assistant Library Director, this position in the Main Branch will be responsible for the planning and execution of Early Childhood Education services to the Public Library, and for serving as the Library’s ECE information resource to the community. The incumbent will be required to work five (5) days in a seven (7) day work week (days and/or evenings).</p>
<p>Qualifications:</p>
<p>• Two-year community college diploma in early education. Community college diploma in a different discipline, in combination with extensive related ECE experience, may be considered.<br />
• Experience in ECE programming and consultation, and working with groups of children up to age 12<br />
• Experience working with various community groups and agencies<br />
• Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and applicable applications<br />
• Current WHMIS certificate an asset<br />
• Current and clear Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen required</p>
<p>Assets:</p>
<p>• Fluency in both official languages (English and French)<br />
• Familiarity with children’s literature in English and French</p>
<p>Salary: $17.42 (2012)<br />

• Motor Control experience is an asset<br />

<p>TAWC is currently seeking to fill the position of Administrative Assistant. The main tasks will focus on the administrative support of the centre and the shelter, including the need to possess advanced knowledge at the level of bookkeeping and accounting.</p>
<p>The ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:<br />
Qualifications<br />
• Post secondary degree/diploma in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience<br />
• Experience with accounting programs such as Simply Accounting and ACCPAC in addition to Microsoft Office<br />
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy<br />
• Sound judgment, problem solving and organizational skills<br />
• An understanding of violence against women work/women’s issues<br />
• Solid understanding of feminist ideology and anti-racism/anti-oppression principles<br />
• Experience with the not-for-profit sector would be an asset<br />
• Must undergo a criminal record check</p>
<p>Main Responsibilities:<br />
• Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)<br />
• Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures<br />
• Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions<br />
• Ensure that accurate and timely financial statements are prepared in accordance with contract agreements with funders<br />
• Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash<br />
• Submit all financial information, reports, and records as requested or required by law to appropriate government officials and funders<br />
• Payroll Preparation and Administration<br />
• Coordinate the administration of the pension plan and health benefits program<br />
• Co-ordinating and facilitating office services such as, but not limited to: telephone systems and support, office equipment maintenance, technology systems and support,<br />
• Update and ensure the accuracy of the Centre&#8217;s databases</p>

<p>H.E. R. Place is currently in the process of hiring casual staff for our 10 bed anti-violence women’s shelter. We are looking for self motivated women to join our team in the capacity of Relief Residential Support Workers. There is no ‘set schedule’ for relief shifts as they are offered on an ‘as needed’ basis. There is no commitment on your part to accept more than one available shift every three months.<br />
The ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:<br />
Qualifications:<br />
• Post secondary degree/diploma in a relevant field and/or equivalent experience<br />
• Interest in women’s issues/anti-violence issues<br />
• Able to work in a diverse environment<br />
• Strong written, computer and verbal communication skills<br />
• Crisis intervention and conflict resolution abilities<br />
• Sound judgment, problem solving and organizational skills<br />
• Must be able to do lifting/carrying, snow shovelling, light housework<br />
• Fluency in Cree considered an asset</p>
<p>Main Responsibilities:<br />
• Work to create and maintain safe, confidential, respectful and trustworthy living/working conditions within the shelter<br />
• Provide client centered support/ education/ crisis intervention for shelter residents and crisis line callers<br />
• Provide advocacy and safety planning for shelter clients<br />
• Provide conflict resolution and mediation within the shelter<br />
• Complete various administrative tasks<br />
• Attend and participate in fundraising and awareness raising ventures</p>
<p>Hours of Work: Casual: On an as-needed basis. Must be available to work on short notice. A variety of shifts are available including days, nights and weekends</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Under the direction of the Material Management Supervisor performs maintenance tasks as directed. (Weekend, Statutory Holiday and Vacation coverage)</p>
<p>Duties:</p>
<p>• Remove and dispose of garbage from all departments daily;<br />
• Remove and dispose of recyclable waste;<br />
• Snow removal of exit doors, sidewalks, walkways, sanding and salt applications;<br />
• Clean Laundry Dryer lint compartments;<br />
• Log water temperatures of Hot water supply systems;<br />
• Complete Maintenance work requests;<br />
• Other duties as assigned.</p>
<p>Qualifications:</p>
<p>• Grade 12 education or equivalency;<br />
• Good physical condition, able to lift and work with heavy materials and<br />
adverse weather conditions;<br />
• Able to follow oral and written instructions;<br />
• Current WHIMIS certificate an asset;<br />
• Valid Drivers License;<br />
• Current clear Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen.</p>
<p>SALARY RANGE: $18.78 to $19.97 per hour (2011)<br />
In accordance with CUPE Local 1140 Agreement.</p>
