Position Overview
Wajax Industries is currently recruiting for Heavy Equipment Technicians. This position is responsible for performing maintenance, repair and rebuilding construction equipment within the shop and field.
Duties
The Heavy Equipment Technicians must be able to diagnose faults or malfunctions and adjust, repair, or replace all defective construction equipment parts, components or systems serviced. This requires strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals relating to manufacturer specifications and warranty environments. In order to ensure that the work done satisfies manufacturer’s specifications, the Heavy Equipment Technicians must also test the repaired equipment for proper performance. Must be able to work with minimal supervision but also participate in the work of other technicians and apprentices within the field environment.
Qualifications
Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification is required. Must have a demonstrated ability to efficiently troubleshoot and repair issues in electronic, mechanical, electro/hydraulic systems common to construction equipment products. Experience with manufacturer specific equipment diagnostic systems i.e. Laptop or onboard is essential.
