Competition No. 18-07R - The Cochrane Temiskaming Resource Centre (CTRC) is seeking a dynamic, strong leader to join its Management Team in Timmins. CTRC is a regional Developmental Services provider offering programs across the Districts of Temiskaming and Cochrane including coastal communities along James and Hudson Bay. The successful candidate will lead experienced Community Support Workers as well as new recruits via a 2018-2019 service expansion and they will also oversee our regional Family Home Program.

The Manager of Community Support and Family Home Services, will oversee and lead, in collaboration with the Director of the Professional Resource Team, the services of both the Community Support Workers and Family Home Workers.

They will act as a resource and support individual workers in resolving problems, conceptualizing cases, advocating and ensuring that quality services are provided in a professional and timely manner. They will ensure adherence to agency and program policies, and to legislative and regulatory guidelines. They will facilitate positive working relationships with staff, other agencies and services. Community outreach and representation at various committees will be part of the job. They will assess service needs, respond to service requests and manage service complaints. Management of special projects and all other customary roles and responsibilities of a regional service manager will be part of this role.

The successful candidate will minimally possess a Master’s or Bachelor’s of Social Work or other Master’s degree in one of the human services and have demonstrated experience in managing in the field of social and community services. Knowledge in areas applicable to social work and advocacy for adults and children with Developmental Disabilities, and families and services that support Developmental Services is required. Knowledge of Family Home Services is an asset. Registration or eligibility to register with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (CSWSSW) is an asset. Bilingualism is an asset. The use of a vehicle and possession of a valid driver’s license is essential.


Those possessing an acceptable combination of education, training with at least two years supervisory and service administration experience may be considered.


Hours of Work: 75 hours / 2 Weeks                                 Closing Date: March 25th 2018 at 4:15 pm
