POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Human Resources will ensure the effective operation of the Human Resources department within approved budgets and provide overall direction related to department in alignment with the council’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities as set by the Council of Chiefs and Executive Director. The Director of Human Resources will provide assistance and leadership aimed at helping Mushkegowuk Council achieve its organizational and departmental objectives. The incumbent will manage the staffing for the Human Resources department and ensure processes are in place for the smooth and compliant operation of the Human Resource Department. The Director of Human Resources will also work on projects for the development of policies and programs, and coordinate with the finance department on personnel budgets. The incumbent will also present to the Council of Chiefs and assorted stakeholders as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in human resources management or 5 years of experience in Human Resources field.
• CHRP, CHRL designation an asset
• Excellent communication skills.
• Highly organized and Detail- oriented
• Superior interpersonal, strong people skills, and good problem-solving skills.
• Budget management experience.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Ability to work flexible hours and under minimum supervision
• Must be willing to travel
• Ability to communicate in the Cree language an asset
