Accounting Clerk

Full-Time • Timmins Region

Position: Accounting Clerk

Start/End Hours – Rotation Schedule: Monday to Friday (8:00 am to 5:00 pm)

Working Conditions: Office

Potential Hazards: Sitting, Tripping

Requirements:

·         Experience: 2-3 years

·         Education: minimum 2-year accounting diploma

·         Intermediate to advance knowledge of excel and word

·         Working knowledge of Outlook

·         Working knowledge of Sage 50 (formerly Simply Accounting)

·         Working knowledge of Sage ERP Accpac an asset

·         Working knowledge of QuickBooks an asset

Basic Function: Provide bookkeeping services to a variety of businesses which includes posting transactions to accounting software from the clients’ source documents. Other duties include bank and clearing account reconciliations, accounts receivable and accounts payable reconciliations. Provide administrative support to clients or to management as needed.


Other duties that may present themselves: 

·         preparing government remittances (HST, payroll liabilities, EHT, WSIB)

·         process payroll in a timely manner

·         conduct periodic reconciliations of selected accounts to ensure their accuracy

·         generate financial statement

·         assemble information for accountants/auditors as required

·         correspond with clients on various matters
