Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Environment and Community, the key responsibilities in this role will be taking the lead on all internal and external communications, providing clerical and production support in implementation of stake holder communications including desktop publishing, photography, and other communications and marketing related activities. This is a part-time contract, two days per week however there may be an opportunity for the role to become full time.

The successful candidate will also be accountable for:

Maintaining all communications with regards to any crisis, issues management and media relations.
Managing and maintaining all stakeholder mapping and engagement plans.
Developing communication materials such as presentations, media releases, speeches, web and social media content as well as tracking, monitoring and reporting media
Managing the budget and request tracking of the Community Partnership Program.
Monthly and quarterly reporting of internal metrics and monthly updates to internal web screens.
Assist with planning events, tours, open houses and other activities as required.
Communicate with cross functional teams to create content and publish a quarterly newsletter.
Ensuring that the Glencore brand and company marks are used in accordance to Corporate guidelines.
Compliance to Industry Association and Glencore sustainability and corporate protocols


The ideal candidate must have:

Minimum of a two-year college diploma in Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing.
Graduates of Community /International Development programs may be considered if they have demonstrable skills that meet the position’s required qualifications.
Experience in dealing with Indigenous affairs would be considered an asset.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe and publishing software.
Ability to listen actively and communicate effectively.
Demonstrate creativity and rigour.
Any media relations training would be considered an asset.
