Community Use of Schools Officer - Comp. 18-448
Full-Time • Timmins Region
Reporting to the Superintendent of Business/Finance, the CUS Officer will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Board's Community Engagement plan as well as the daily maintenance of the rental contracts. This position will act as a liaison with municipalities, community groups, agencies child care centres, schools and internal departments to ensure compliance of policies, procedures and funding allocations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Administer the Community Use of Schools (CUS) program and act as the liaison with Ministry of Education, municipalities, community user groups, agencies, schools and internal departments to ensure compliance of policies, procedures and funding allocations
Responsible for the maintenance of all areas of facility rentals for all DSB Ontario North East sites using eBase, including but not limited to processing, approving and alteration of contracts, maintenance of client information and insurance information.
Investigate and resolve complaints and concerns related to the rental of facilities and schools
Responsible for complete financial activities of the CUS accounts and is expected to make recommendations for short and long-range planning
Plan, prepare and conduct outreach workshops, seminars and other training sessions for users
Coordinate the timely and accurate collection of CUS program data and complete user reports for Board and Ministry of Education
Travel to Board facilities as needed to liaise with school staff and community user groups
Other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications:
Post-secondary diploma/degree in Business Administration, Event Management, or Recreation, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite
Experience in dispute resolution and mediation, an asset
Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License and use of a personal vehicle required
Current and clear Criminal Background Check
