Food Safety Training Certification would be considered an asset.
The physical capacity to stand and walk most of the working day; to handle supplies and equipment of light to moderate weight and which may require reaching, bending, pushing, lifting and carrying.
The capacity to work while exposed to the possibility of burns from hot equipment and cuts from knives and blades.
The adaptability to changes in temperatures when entering refrigerators and freezers, to odours associated with a food service and to humid conditions.
Must possess a memory for detail and a willingness to perform routine tasks according to established procedures.
To provide food services to patients in accordance with established standards by:
preparing and serving food in accordance with sanitary standards and portion control procedures
preparing food items such as toast, sandwiches, and special drinks
preparing patient carts for Select Service, portering carts and serving food to patients at the point of service
preparing and delivering late trays and/or patient nourishments
completing the patient diet sheet requirements for the morning breakfast service
cleaning work area and equipment
complying with departmental standards of dress
To assist in the dishwashing process by:
stripping soiled trays in the dishwashing area according to established procedures
feeding and removing dishes from the dishwasher
transferring cleaned dishes to their designated areas
