Finance and Human Resources Assistant

Community Living Timmins

Full-Time • Timmins Region

This is a professional position which involves working with many different people, including the public, employees, individuals with disabilities and other business people. You need to be polite and courteous at all times. You will be expected to work with multiple demands and deadlines and the ability to prioritize and be flexible is a must. You will be required to be familiar with several computer programs and office equipment. To be responsible as a team member of the Administration Department by providing various AP/AR, payroll and human resources supports, etc. to all of CLTIC programs


  • Minimum 2 yr. Business Accounting diploma. – Required.

  • Experience with Accounts Payable & Receivable and Bookkeeping/Accounting functions – Required.

  • Experience with Payroll Functions – Required.

  • Effective communication orally and in writing in both English and French at the Advanced Level – Required.

  • Proficiency in Sage Accounting (ACCPAC) and Microsoft Office - Required.

  • Organizational skills and ability to multi-task. – Required.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality - Required.

  • Current Standard First Aid & CPR – Required.

  • Class G drivers licence and ability to drive safely without any restrictions – Required.

  • Must have effective interpersonal skills – Required.

  • Must have organizational skills – Required.

  • Must be able to set priorities – Required.

  • Must have an awareness of needs, person centred thinking and planning when responding to, or having challenges with people supported with this position. – Required.

  • To work effectively with minimal supervision – Required.

  • Ability to take initiative and ensure work gets completed for all programs in a timely manner – Required.

  • Experience working as an effective team member – Required.

  • Experience working with minimal supervision – Required.

  • Must possess a positive attitude – Required.

  • Must be creative / innovative thinker – Required.

  • Must have time management skills – Required.

  • To meet deadlines as required – Required.

  • To be able to multi-task – Required.

  • CPI (Crisis Prevention & Intervention) – Required.

  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening – Required

  • WHIMIS – Asset

  • Experience in working within the parameters of a Collective Agreement – Asset.

  • Knowledge of Labour Relations Act, Employment Standard Act. – Asset.


Salary:                               As per Management Scale

Hours of Work:                60 hours every two weeks (flex hours may be required with ???prior approval)
