TEMPORARY PART-TIME PANDEMIC SCREENERS (Golden Manor Home for the Aged) (Competition No.: GM-2021-05)

The Golden Manor is looking to hire Pandemic Screeners who will assist in fulfilling Directives related to COVID-19 as set out by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The Pandemic Screener contributes to the safety of residents, visitors and staff by ensuring compliance with infection prevention and control practices and protocols at the entrances to the Golden Manor. This position plays a critical role in acting as an advocate for safety and will demonstrate principles, practices and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all.
Complete Ministry regulated COVID-19 active screening requirements with staff, caregivers, visitors, contractors, etc.
Answer public inquiries
Receive mail and deliveries
Clean and disinfect entrance and high touch areas
Direct and support people to appropriate floor or Home area
Organize and manage confidential visitor and staff information
Other tasks as assigned
Grade 12 education or equivalency
Able to complete all required online education/training
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to adapt to changes in protocol
Able to work independently and self-directed
Able to carry out detail oriented tasks
Time management skills
Demonstrated patience and compassion and enjoy working with the residents of long-term care
Ability to be tactful, respectful and courteous with residents, families and staff members
Ability to ensure confidentiality of visitor and staff information
Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Bilingual in English and French would be considered an asset
Ability to work weekdays/weekends and between the hours of 5:30 am to 7:30 pm
Current and clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screen required
Ability to adhere to all infection prevention and control protocols and screening requirements
SALARY: $18.00 per hour (2021)
