WARD CLERK (Golden Manor Home for the Aged) (Competition No.: GM-2021-10)

The Ward Clerk reports to the Director of Nursing and/or delegate. The Ward Clerk contributes to the overall management of resident care by carrying out the following activities:

DUTIES:

 Maintain resident health and administrative records
 Coordinate and schedule resident phlebotomy services
 Manage supplies for the Nursing Department
 Perform tasks for and on behalf of residents, including escort, as assigned
 Manage special projects as assigned by nursing administration
 Participate in and support the City’s Continuous Improvement Program (CIP), by identifying opportunities for improvements in City processes with the aim of making processes as efficient as possible

QUALIFICATIONS

 Grade twelve diploma with a two-year Office Administration with medical terminology component from an accredited Community College
 Knowledge of medical terminology lab testing
 Knowledge of computer software such as Word, Excel and Outlook
 Good organizational and interpersonal skills
 Current WHMIS Certificate required
 Current and Clear Criminal Record Check with Vunerable Sector Screen
 Ability to adhere to all infection prevention and control protocols and screening requirements

Salary Band Level 3: $23.54 - $27.69 (2021)
          In accordance with CUPE Local 434 Agreement.
