The Timmins Family Counselling Centre is a bilingual, non-profit agency that promotes the well-being of the community by offering short-term therapy to individuals, couple and families. We are currently accepting applications for one (1) Full-time permanent, the individual will balance a 0.5 Counselling case load and 0.5 Partner Assault Respond Program. We are looking for someone who can work independently, creatively, and effectively in a fast-paced environment, as part of a diverse and collaborative multi-disciplinary group of professionals.
Responsibility:
- Provide short-term therapy services to individuals 12 years of age and older.
- Provide short-term Enhanced Counselling Program to medium to high risk offenders.
- Offer individual, couple and family therapy services.
- Refer clients to internal programs and determine funding eligibility, and / or provide appropriate referrals to community resources and/or services.
- Performs administrative tasks such as keeping clinical files up to date, writing progress notes, reports, and letters of support.
- Participate in community activities on behalf of the agency as needed.
- Demonstrated and build networks with community agencies and in making timely referrals and connections to programs meeting unique, complex, and multi-dimensional needs.
- Act as a point of contact for our programs and external partners.
- Complete intake assessment / Prepare and co-facilitate individual or group sessions according to the Partner Assault Response Program Partner Intervention Program has per the Ministry of the Attorney General.
- Participate in community activities on behalf of the agency as needed.
Requirements:
- Social Worker, Psychotherapist, Social Service Workers or equivalent
- Must be registered or eligible for registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social
- Service Workers or College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
- Professional liability insurance.
- Ability to manage stress, fast-paced environment, and changes.
- Ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook from Microsoft Office.
- Criminal record check to work with vulnerable persons is required.
- Must provide government-issued evidence of receipt of 2nd Health Canada approved Covid vaccination dose at least fourteen (14) days prior to your start date, or evidence that you qualify for a human rights exemption.
- The therapist will be working from the TFCC agency.
- Bilingual therapist (French / English).
