CHILD AND YOUTH WORKER – LIVE-IN TREATMENT PROGRAM
Full-time Position in Timmins (FW Schumacher)

North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services is presently inviting applications for a Child and Youth Worker position at the FW Schumacher Live-In Treatment Program to perform all direct work with children and youth. Duties include administering the therapeutic program, monitoring and taking part in activities, completing records, logs and inventories, performing building safety and security checks, providing counseling to residents.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS):

• Successful completion of a diploma and/or degree from an accredited College and/or University in Social Services, Human Services, Police Foundations, Paramedic or Registered Practical Nursing (RPN) is preferred. Personal Support Workers (Eight Month or longer) Certificate may be considered. Full-time students presently active in completing their last year of a diploma and/or degree in Social Services, Human Services or Nursing may be considered.
• Previous experience working with children and youth
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Bilingualism (English/French) is required; however if a qualified bilingual applicant is not found, a qualified unilingual candidate may be considered on a 12 month full-time contractual basis. Both bilingual and unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
• Must have a valid driver’s license and use of your own vehicle
