About This Opportunity

This position will join our team working in Timmins, Ontario on a full-time basis. The schedule will primarily depend on employee location and travel requirements.

This position offers a salary range of $55.00 - $70.00 per hour.

Primary Responsibilities

This is a combined position. Candidates must have demonstrated experience and competency in both production longhole blasting and cable bolting.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare production longholes for blasting
• Load and charge production blast holes
• Install detonators and associated blasting components
• Complete stemming and blast preparation
• Conduct firing activities in accordance with approved procedures and applicable regulations
• Inspect holes and identify conditions that may affect loading or blasting
• Perform underground cable bolting activities
• Prepare and install cable bolts in accordance with engineered ground-support requirements
• Operate applicable cable bolting equipment and supporting tools
• Handle explosives and blasting accessories in accordance with legislation and site procedures
• Maintain accurate blasting and production records
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineering, ground control and operations personnel
• Maintain safe, organized blasting and cable-bolting work areas
  
  

Preferred Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of relevant underground longhole blasting experience
• Ontario Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core with applicable longhole and blasting modules
• Ontario Blaster Certification
• Demonstrated underground cable bolting experience
• Experience with production longhole loading electronic and non-electronic detonators, charging and firing
• Strong understanding of underground explosives handling and blast safety
• Ability to interpret blast plans and ground-support specifications
• Ideal candidates will be experienced in both disciplines
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
• Valid driver’s license
• Eligible to work in Canada
