About This Opportunity
This position will join our team working in Timmins, Ontario on a full-time basis. The schedule will primarily depend on employee location and travel requirements.
This position offers a salary range of $55.00 - $80.00 per hour.
Primary Responsibilities
The Longhole Driller will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating underground longhole drilling equipment in support of production requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
Operate pneumatic and/or top-hammer production longhole drills
Drill production holes according to approved layouts, specifications and direction
Complete drill setup, alignment and relocation between work areas
Perform drilling in various orientations and ground conditions
Complete pre-operational inspections and identify equipment deficiencies
Monitor drilling performance, hole condition and equipment operation
Assist with routine maintenance, servicing and troubleshooting as required
Maintain accurate drilling and production records
Work effectively with supervisors, engineering, survey, blasting and maintenance personnel
Maintain clean and organized work areas
Follow all applicable health, safety and operating procedures
Preferred Experience
Minimum 2+ years of pneumatic and/or top-hammer longhole drilling experience
Ontario Underground Hard Rock Miner Common Core, with applicable longhole drilling modules.
Demonstrated underground hard-rock mining experience
Experience with production longhole drilling and associated drilling practices
Ability to interpret drill layouts and underground production instructions
Strong understanding of safe drill operation and underground workplace hazards
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
Valid driver’s license
Eligible to work in Canada
