POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Terrestrial Region Manager, the Guardian Program Planner will research and develop regional guardian strategy, training standards, and youth initiative, and support member First Nations to develop their specific guardian programs and implementation plans. This position is for a 2-year term with the possibility of continuation.
REQUIREMENTS
- College Diploma or University degree in a relevant field
- Combination of education and progressively responsible experience with 2 years of direct work experience.
- Excellent research and verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Guardian programs in Canada
- Knowledge of Indigenous law, Mushkegowuk First Nations culture and natural resources would be an asset.
- Ability to work independently and in a small team
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite and online/virtual communications tools.
- Willingness and ability to travel to Mushkegowuk communities
- Class G driver's License.
- Satisfactory criminal record check.
- Capacity to work remotely (from home or own office) with stable internet connection, with option to be based in the Timmins, Lands and Resources Department office.
