POSITION SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Primary Care Manager, the Specialty Clinic Liaison serves as a key point of contact between the Mushkegowuk Health Primary Care Team, visiting service providers, and the First Nation communities we serve. The Liaison is responsible for coordinating logistics and clinical support for Specialty Clinics, including scheduling, travel, space preparation, communication, and clinical support within the RPN scope of practice.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Registered Practical Nursing Diploma or Certificate.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in a community, hospital, or public health setting.
  • Current membership with RPNAO.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with EMRs (e.g., PS Suite).
  • Experience coordinating care or health services in a remote or fly-in community setting is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision in high-pressure or variable environments.
  • Experience and knowledge of First Nation communities, Indigenous populations, and related issues.
  • Works in a culturally safe manner and demonstrates the ability to understand and empathize with our patients’ unique needs.
  • Must be willing to travel to First Nation communities.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license.
  • Satisfactory CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check.
