ANNOUNCES A VACANCY FOR:

#25-73: One (1) Client Support Worker – Part Time

The Cochrane Temiskaming Resource Centre (CTRC) is seeking one Client Support Worker to join its team in Timmins. CTRC is a regional Developmental Services provider offering programs across the Districts of Temiskaming and Cochrane including coastal communities along James and Hudson Bay. The successful candidate will work at our Client Support Services Worksite offering support to individuals with Developmental Disabilities. This person will actively participate in the planning and the implementation of a comprehensive Client Support Program for individuals supported by the Cochrane Temiskaming Resource Centre. Supports include providing assistance with social activities such as leisure, recreational, interpersonal interactions and community involvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Only those possessing a diploma or degree in one of the Human Service fields will be considered for the Client Support Worker position. This person should demonstrate the ability to promote and maintain harmonious relationships with individuals who have a developmental disability, peers, families and the community at large. The successful candidate should have good communication and organizational skills as well as some background in behaviour management and physical disorders. Ability to relate to clients with diversified backgrounds, assume professional responsibility and keep supervisor informed. Ability to prepare clear and concise written reports. Innovation, creativity and dedication to the philosophy of Person-Centred Planning is essential. Possession of an updated First Aid Certificate (including Heart Saver CPR) and CPI, or willingness to obtain such is necessary. Qualifications as a lifeguard would be an asset and a valid G class driver’s license is mandatory.

Wages: $30.97 – $31.83 per hour

(+4.5 - 5.5% in lieu of vacation paid twice annually and 1% in lieu of benefits paid each pay period)

Part Time employees are offered a defined pension plan with the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) and are eligible from hire date to join the plan. Extended Health Benefits (80% of drug costs) Life insurance ($25,000), dental ($1,500/yr.), vision ($225/24 months), para-medical coverage ($300/practitioner) and travel insurance with all premiums paid by employer are provided.

Hours of work: 56 hours / 2 weeks
