Northern College is seeking Family Medicine Physicians in our East End Family Health Team (EEFHT) clinic. The team provides a broad range of programs and services with room to expand. The East End Family Health Team clinic is adivision of and located at the Northern College Timmins Campus, which is situated on a park like setting overlooking beautiful Porcupine Lake. The region is noted for its great outdoor activities year-round.

At the East End Family Health Team, we offer a flexible working environment that works with your schedule and no overhead. Our clinic is equipped with an Electronic Medical Record System, e-fax, and virtual visit technology. Our modern Family Health Team practices collaborative care where your practice is supported by a team of nurses, mental health workers, and administrators.

The amount of time or commitment is determined by your availability. The EEFHT is a Blended Salary Model (BSM) Family Health Team where total compensation is based on multiple components including base salary, capitation payments, and shadow billing.

What you will be doing:

  • Effectively manage the primary care needs of a roster of patients with the help of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Be involved with health promotion activities with the aim of optimizing the health of people, families, communities, and populations;
  • Function within their scope of practice;
  • Demonstrate and maintain competence in clinical practice in health assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutics; and
  • Ensuring standards of patient care are maintained according to accepted medical standards and company policy.

What you will need to be considered:

  • Medical license and current registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario in Family Medicine;
  • Ability to provide proof of professional liability protection (PLP);
  • Knowledge of the Health care system, social determinants of health and community resources;
  • Demonstrated commitment to client-centered, community-based care;
  • Experience working in community primary care settings;
  • Experience using electronic medical records (PS Suites an asset);
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills;
  • Demonstrated experience in program planning, research and evaluation;
  • Ability to work collaboratively within and across inter-disciplinary teams;
  • Ability to work effectively with people of various cultural, age and economic backgrounds; and
  • Ability to provide a current and up-to-date criminal reference/vulnerable sector check.
