Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Supervisor of Enforcement Services:

Duties

• Assist all Departments with the enforcement of Municipal By-Laws
• Responsible for enforcing Provincial Regulations when required
• Responsible for parking enforcement including; overnight (winter months), snow removal, street sweeping
• Receive, investigate and resolve valid complaints
• Under the direction of the Supervisor, obtain compliance to City of Timmins By-laws relating to business licensing, zoning, encumbrance, yard maintenance, property standards, traffic and such other by-laws as required
• Under the direction of the Supervisor start legal proceedings when compliance has not been received
• Participate in and support the City’s Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) to identify improvements in the way we deliver services
• Shift work required in winter months
• Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Grade twelve plus two-year community college diploma, preferably in Police Foundations or relevant field.
• Must be able to analyze a situation quickly and use good, sound judgment
• Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Mapping and Database software
• Fluency in English required
• Ability to communicate verbally in any additional languages relevant to our municipality an asset
• Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence required
• Clear Driver’s Abstract required
• Current and clear Criminal Record Check with Judicial Matters Check required
