Position Summary
Under direction of the Transit Mechanical Supervisor, assist with daily routines, maintain inventory levels, shipping and receiving of parts and supplies for multiple buildings in the Transit system using all available electronic tools, loading and unloading of parts and deliveries and storage of said items, perform fuel dips and maintain fuel inventory, source alternative supplies due to long lead times or discontinued parts.
Duties
• Order, receive, load, unload, and store parts and materials as required.
• Prepare requisitions and close purchase orders as required.
• Request quotes as required.
• Verify pricing on parts and materials as required.
• Maintain inventory information via Maintstar.
• Maintain an organized area and inventory storage (service land consumables, janitorial consumable, shelter glass/parts.
• Maintain and track specialty tools and bus warranties.
• Perform fuel dips and record levels and dispatch supplier as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Grade 12 education or equivalency.
• Minimum two years previous work experience in Mechanical and Industrial warehousing, inventory control and purchasing.
• Previous experience in computerized maintenance management systems.
• A demonstrated ability to communicate pleasantly and effectively with co-workers and sales representatives.
• Good penmanship and clerical ability.
• Working knowledge of supplier locations and trade practice required.
• Valid Class “G” Driver’s Licence with proof of a good driving record.
• First Aid certificate required.
• Forklift operator certificate required.
