Position Overview
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor at the Discovery Kidd Metallurgical Site in Timmins, ON, the primary duties of this job is to perform maintenance, repairs, installation and commissioning of various electronic control systems. This may include, but is not limited to, the following:
•System administration of the site Foxboro
DCS system
•Maintenance of electronic control systems
•Responsible for product support and
services required to commission and troubleshoot problems during installation
and after project completion
•Installing and testing instrumentation
devices
•Hardware and software maintenance,
monitoring and reporting
•On-site preventive maintenance such as
system back up and restore, software patches, hardware cleaning and visual
inspection with recommendations and reports
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must:
•Have a minimum 2-year diploma as an
Instrumentation Technician with 3 year’s experience in an industrial setting
(preferably a milling environment)
•Strong knowledge of controls systems such
as PLC’s (Modicon) and
DCS (Foxboro)
•Complete or have recently completed CAAT
and DAT testing in a satisfactory manner.
•Preference will be given to applicants
who have dual tickets in electrical and instrumentation.
- Must be fluent in English - written and spoken
