Regional POCT Coordinator

Timmins and District Hospital

Full-Time • Timmins Region

Reporting to the Regional General Manager, Timmins Cluster Laboratory Services Partnership (TCLSP), the Point of Care Testing (POCT) Client Services Coordinator plays a key role within TCLSP in supporting client service excellence for patient care. The primary responsibilities include providing oversight and overall direction in all hospital sites participating in various POCT programs.

 

The Timmins Cluster Laboratory Services is a partnership of eleven (11) hospitals in North Eastern Ontario under the Medical Directorship of the Laboratory Medicine Program, University Health Network.

The partner sites are:: Hornepayne Community Hospital – Hornepayne; Notre-Dame Hospital – Hearst; Sensenbrenner Hospital – Kapuskasing; Hôpital de Smooth Rock Falls Hospital – Smooth Rock Falls; Chapleau Health Services – Chapleau; Lady Minto Hospital – Cochrane; Anson General Hospital – Iroquois Falls; Bingham Memorial Hospital – Matheson; Blanche River Health – Kirkland Lake site and Englehart site; Timmins and District Hospital -Timmins.

 

At a supervisor level, the role encompasses: 


  • Coordinates and standardizes all POCT programs within TCLSP using standardized instruments/devices, operating procedures and IT connectivity data management systems.
  • Coordinates and standardizes the POCT quality assurance program and quality indicators throughout TCLSP working closely with the POCT Director and Quality Manager.
  • Prepares adhoc reports as required.
  • Manages and directs the current COBAS, AEGIS and any other POCT devices and data management system as required for maximum efficiency.
  • Chairs the Regional POC Advisory Committee.
  • Travel to partner sites as needed and requested.


Here's What You'll Need:

  • Diploma in Laboratory Technology from a recognized College and member of the CMLTO.
  • Minimum 3 years working with Point of Care testing, preferably in a Hospital.
  • Evidence of understanding of Accreditation Canada - Diagnostics requirements.
  • Evidence of continuous professional and personal development.
  • Evidence of competency in Project Management.
  • Competent in application of computers, Laboratory Information System (i.e. Meditech), as they relate to Laboratory processes, management, and statistical.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
  • Satisfactory attendance.
