Description
Anti-Hunger Coalition Timmins (ACT) is looking for a highly-motivated and effective person to join our tightly-knit, collaborative team. ACT is a local charity, serving Timmins since 2007. Our vision is a community where all residents have the resources to access and prepare healthy food. We work toward these goals by procuring and distributing healthy and affordable food, providing education and skill-building opportunities, fostering community partnerships, and addressing gaps in our food system.
We need someone who is in equal part excited by the big picture vision of what we are doing and by the details of what is required to make it happen.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and schedule engaging social media content across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) to promote programs and events.
- Monitor and respond to online inquiries, comments, and messages in a professional and timely manner.
- Create digital assets such as graphics, photos, and short videos to support campaigns.
- Analyze social media metrics and prepare monthly performance reports to inform strategy.
- Support website updates and online event promotion to maintain consistent branding and messaging.
- Collaborate with staff to plan targeted outreach to priority audiences, including underserved or rural communities.
- Research trends and best practices in social media marketing relevant to nonprofit organizations.
- Assist with writing blogs, newsletters, and other digital storytelling content.
- Help develop a social media content calendar aligned with organizational goals.
- Participate in training and mentorship to build skills in digital marketing and communications.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of community-based food programs and understanding of hunger/poverty/food system issues
- Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to target timelines
- Experience working with a diversity of community members, including marginalized individuals or groups, is an asset
- Proficiency in the use of computers for: Word processing, Excel data entry, Email, Social Media
- Multilingualism is an asset
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs
- Valid class G driver’s license
Contract: one (1) -year contract at 35 hours/week. 8:30-4:30 Monday to Friday.
Salary / Benefits:
- Starting wage is $18.55/hour
- 2-weeks vacation
- Paid annual office closure between Christmas and New Years.
