Social Worker
Misiway Milopemahtesewin Community Health Centre
Full-Time • Timmins Region
Misiway is an Indigenous-led Primary Health Care Organization in Timmins, Ontario. Misiway, meaning “everyone” in Cree, reflects our commitment to inclusive, community-centred care. We support the whole person by bringing together people, culture, and services to ensure care for everyone.
Status: Full-Time, Permanent (35 hours per week)
Salary Range: $49,400 - $54,950
Why This Role Matters
At Misiway, we believe children and youth deserve care that sees them as a whole. Their strengths. Their family. Their culture. Their story. Not just the reason they were referred.
The Social Worker is one of the most relational roles in our organization. You'll sit with young people through hard moments, walk with families through complex systems, and be part of a team that genuinely changes lives. Your wellbeing matters here as much as your clients' does.
Land-based healing is central to our Child and Youth Program. If you carry a love for the land, a connection to seasonal teachings, or knowledge passed down through your family or community, that belongs here. The land isn't a backdrop to our programming. It's part of how healing happens.
Our work is guided by the IPHCC Model of Wholistic Health and Wellbeing. We understand that physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health are all connected, and that you can't separate them. Culture is not a supplement to care. It's the foundation of it.

What Working Here Means
Working at Misiway means being somewhere that takes its values seriously. We talk about putting people first, and we try to do it, for clients and for staff. You'll be encouraged to grow here, reflect on your practice, and speak up when something isn't working.
It also means being part of a place where your cultural knowledge and community connections are recognized as strengths, not footnotes on a resume. We've learned a lot from workers who grew up in Timmins, who know these families, who understand what it means when someone finally walks through our door.
