Work Schedule: 5-5-4 rotation, 12-hour shifts. Although this is the established schedule, the company reserves the right to modify it as needed to meet operational requirements.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Northern Sun Mining currently has an exciting opportunity for a Grinding Operator to join our Operations department. Reporting to the Operations Shift Supervisor, the ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring grinding equipment. This role is crucial in ensuring high-quality output while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Please note this is not a camp-based position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily contact with junior and senior mill staff to review operations and problems arising throughout the grinding circuit.
- Daily contact with supervisor to discuss maintenance needs and minimize operational interruptions.
- Conduct pre-operating inspections as per checklist.
- Perform hourly inspections and routine checks of the grinding circuit.
- Prepare detailed shift report summarizing major events and production results.
- Participate in daily information exchanges with the team and cross-shift.
- Ensure equipment reports are completed at the start of each shift.
- Maximize tonnage throughputs within the grinding circuit.
- Attend daily safety meetings.
- Assist in accident/incident investigations and reporting when requested by management.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the area of responsibility.
- Work in health work environmental with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation's goal of being accident-free.
- Comply and federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
- Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical training an asset).
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience operating a grinding circuit is preferred.
- Basic Mill Process Operator Common Core is required.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Valid Ontario G driver's license.
- Sound knowledge of base metal and/or gold processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-production environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Effective communication skills
to coordinate with team members and follow instructions accurately.
