Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Maintenance Manager, the Millwright will install, inspect, maintain, test and repair the various mechanical systems throughout the hospital and to perform maintenance work on the equipment, building and grounds.
Position Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, maintain, test and repair the various mechanical systems throughout the hospital:
- Ensure proper installation and alignment of all rotating equipment, such as ventilation fans & blowers; various pumps for water and heating systems.
- Minor Hydraulic systems, which may include mobile equipment
- Compressed air systems and related equipment
- Must be willing to assist other trades when required, i.e. painting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration and general repairs to building structure, equipment and grounds.
Position Requirements:
- Must be provincially certified as a millwright.
- Multi certification, multi skills and/or experience in other trades would be an asset
- Stick welding and use of oxy-acetylene torches
- Use of precision tools such as dial and micrometers, bearing alignment etc.
- Previous work experience in a hospital setting would be an asset
- Minimum 5 years experiences at journeyman status
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, orally and written
- Ability to work safely and demonstrate proper lock outs of all energy sources
- Good attendance and safety work
- Must be able to work in a self-directed manner, with little to no Supervision and determine job priorities based on the hierarchy of the hospital environment
- Bilingualism (French and English) would be considered an asset.
- All TADH staff members must follow the COVID-19 vaccination series in accordance with the most up-to-date vaccine guidance provided by the Ontario Ministry of Health.
Compensation and Benefits
· Starting salary of $35.26/hour; $68,757.00/year (As per Step 1 of the STW collective agreement.)
· Option to enroll into Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan.
