Work Schedule: 5-5-4, 12-hour shifts. Although this is the established schedule, the company reserves the right to modify it as needed to meet operational requirements.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Northern Sun Mining currently has an exciting opportunity for a Shift Supervisor to join our operations team. The Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily mill operations during their assigned shift, ensuring safe, efficient, and productive processing activities. This role provides direct leadership to mill operators, maintenance crews, and support staff, ensuring compliance with production targets, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Please note this is not a camp based position.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and oversee all milling activities and personnel during assigned shifts, including crushing, grinding, flotation, dewatering, tailings management, and maintenance staff.
  • Ensure production targets are met safely, efficiently, and within quality standards. 
  • Provide direction and support to mill operators, maintenance personnel, and contractors. 
  • Monitor equipment performance and promptly report issues to maintenance and management teams. 
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings and ensure effective handover of shift reports. 
  • Promote and enforce a site level safety culture through consistent engagement with employees' and contractors with an objective of "zero" harm. 
  • Lead incident investigations, workplace inspections, and hazard assessments as required. 
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of shift logs, production reports, and other documentation. 
  • Coach, mentor, and develop employees to support skill growth and succession planning. 
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to optimize mill operations. 
  • Work in compliance with prescribed company policies and procedures. 
  • Additional tasks as assigned by management. 


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in milling or mineral processing operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead hand capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of milling processes, equipment, and safety regulations.
  • Supervisory Common Core required.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
