POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Assistant – Gender-Based Violence will provide administrative, logistical, and program delivery support for the Mushkegowuk Council’s Gender-Based Violence prevention and response initiative. This role will assist in coordinating workshops, community events, and outreach activities; maintaining records; managing communications; and supporting the GBV Coordinator in implementing a culturally grounded, community-driven program.
REQUIREMENTS
Certificate, diploma, or relevant coursework in Office Administration, Community Development, Social Services, or a related field.Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in administrative or program support, preferably in a social services or community-based setting.Experience working with Indigenous communities is an asset.
Awareness of gender-based violence issues and willingness to learn culturally safe and trauma-informed approaches.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort using social media platforms.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to travel occasionally within the Mushkegowuk Territory.Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle preferred.Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.A satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
