Human Resources Assistant
Timmins and District Hospital
Full-Time • Timmins Region
Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant will work as part of the Human Resources team by providing support in the areas of Human Resources and Student Placements.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide support to administration office when required.
- Assist with recruitment activities for the hospital including resume tracking, job postings (internal and external), candidate screening and references.
- Support the hospitals student placement program by liaising with educational institutions, coordinating placements and ensuring eligible students meet all mandatory on-boarding requirements.
- Participate in developing hospital organizational guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Provide assistance in all areas relating to Human Resources management.
- Assist with group benefits and pension administration, including enrolments, maintenance, terminations of coverage, and communication.
- Maintain employees’ personnel files, ensuring all records are filed, accurate, and complete.
- Maintain annual verification of professional licenses/college registrations.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date information in Meditech.
- Respond to queries from staff on issues relating to Human Resources.
- Assist with other HR-related projects as needed.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- A diploma or degree in Human Resources is preferred with 2-4 years’ experience in the field.
- CHRP professional designation is considered an asset.
- Experience with student placement programs considered an asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge of human resources best practices and strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team is required.
- Demonstrated proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must be able to multi-task in a very fast-paced environment.
- Must possess the ability to provide effective services to clients/patients in both English and French. Individuals who do not meet the language requirements of this posting are invited to submit their résumé for future consideration.
Compensation and Benefits
- Rate of Pay: To be determined, based on experience and certification
- Option to enroll in Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan.
